I’ve been developing and designing websites professionally for 20 years — as a front-end developer at the Principal level, as a UX designer, and as a generalist full-stack developer.

Business Management Application

Lead Front-End Developer

I served as the lead front-end architect and developer on an internal web application to support a midsize HVAC supplier track customer projects, build and send quotes, and invoice and bill their suppliers.

  • Developed application using NextJS, React, TypeScript, Node, and styled Mantine components
  • Set development standards and best practices for team<
  • Developed tools such as component library and precommit tooling to help three other developers
  • Performed PR reviews for other developers
  • Triaged bugs reported by QA and product management
  • Led refactoring effort to improve network performance and maintainability
  • Integrated multitenancy and Copilot chat functionality

Clinical Trial Management SaaS Platform

Front-End Development Team Lead

I served as the lead for a front-end development team on a three-year engagement to build a SaaS platform for a client servicing the clinical trial industry. This application allows study leads to design, orchestrate, and carry out the logistics of a clinical trial.

  • Developed application using React, NextJS, and styled MUI components in a monorepo
  • Assisted lead architect and other team leads in deciding on technical strategies
  • Developed component library based on styled MUI components
  • Developed internal standards and tools to assist other team members
  • Researched, customized, and integrated a third-party survey library
  • Decided on API contracts with front-end and back-end team members
  • Led internal discussions with front-end domain, including topics like accessibility, test-driven development, and React performance

Identity Protection Application

Lead Front-End Developer

I served as the lead for the front-end development team for a consumer-facing identity and privacy application. The application allows users to scan their email inboxes to find accounts on other websites that they might consider deleting.

  • Created application using React, React Router, Redux, and SCSS, integrated into larger site via a microfrontend pattern
  • Assisted two other front-end developers, set techincal direction, and reviewed PRs
  • Consulted with UX designer and client product manager on technical feasibility of ideas
  • Integrated third-party 3D globe visualization into React application

Internal Software Composition Analysis Tool

Lead Python Developer

I led development of an internal tool to perform Software Composition Analysis (SCA) on project repositories. It compares the project’s manifest file (package.json, requirements.txt, etc.) against known vulnerability databases.

  • Developed server-side API using Python and FastAPI to perform security scans and retrieve prior scans on a project
  • Performed integration to add Gemini summary of vulnerabilities
  • Developed command-line UI to wrap API using Textual
